Blue Iguana - Great Mexican Food in Salt Lake City
Sunday, July 30th, 2006 |
On Saturday, my husband and I were in the mood for good Mexican food. We decided to go to downtown Salt Lake City to the Blue Iguana. It was delicious! The food is very inexpensive - I had Chile Verde, and my meal was about $10. My husband had the Mole Polleno, and it was also yummy, and ran about $10. Both meals included beans and rice, and it was way more than either of us could eat.
The Blue Iguana has a sister restaurant, the Red Iguana. I haven’t tried that one, but I hear it is just as delicious. The Red Iguana is actually the original restaurant, and the Blue Iguana was built after the success of Red.
The service was a bit slow at first, but once our orderes were taken, the food came out quickly. Also, they apologized for being so slow, and gave us free fried ice cream to make up for it. It was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend going there.

I’ve heard of the blue iguana - and heard that it was really good. I have yet to try it.
I have also yet to find a Mexican restaurant that rivals “El Charro” in Virginia. Cheap, good, fast, and free chips and salsa. That’s all I need.
Jacintos in Provo was pretty good, but it closed.
when i went there with you guys, it was almost as good as that mexican place down by grandpa ahlgren!!!
I was staying at the Marriott in Salt Lake for a wedding reception and also discovered the deliciousness that is the Blue Iguana!
