I was reading this morning about the different candidates running for president, and I’m pretty open to hear what everyone has to say. For me, the most important thing is someone that is fiscally conservative – either Republican or Democrat. One thing that greatly concerns me is any implications that political decisions will have on my small business, and whether decisions made by politicians will make it difficult for us to keep it running.

I was reading today about Hillary Clinton’s Universal Health Care plan, and I became pretty concerned. She wants to require all businesses (small ones included) to offer health insurance to all employees. I think that it is a noble plan to try to get everyone health insurance (believe me, I’ve been in the boat of having a hard time getting insurance), however, by forcing small businesses to offer this, all this will do is force small businesses to lay off people because they can’t afford to insure all of their employees. I say this from the perspective of a small business owner. Granted, there may be some tax cuts offered, however, any additional expenses will really push some companies over the edge, and either force them to close, or lay off employees.

Requiring all businesses to offer insurance to all employees is not the way to go. Hopefully there will be someone that comes along that has a feasable idea of how to handle this problem. Mitt Romney did a good job in Massachusetts – I’d like to hear what other candidates propose.

Universal healthcare is a BAD thing? Next thing I know you’ll be saying that communism is bad…

Viva la communist states of America….

    Food Inspector,

Forcing small businesses to insure all of their employees will only result in laying people off, and the end result of that will be that not only will they not have health insurance, they won’t have a job. I’m not just watching MY back as a small business owner – I’m watching the backs of my employees as well.

Hillary isn’t looking at the economics of the situation – she’s looking at how she can pander to the pharmaceutical industry so she can get more fundraising dollars for her presidential “campaign.” She really doesn’t care if people have health care or not – she wants to become president at any cost. Her current plan is no better than her last one – the end result would be the same – an economic disaster.

Tax credits would NOT help a small business enough to prevent layoffs – simple economics dictate what the results of this catastrophic plan would be.

Mitt Romney did a decent job in Masachusetts with his health care plan, but Hillary’s would only cost thousands of jobs.

I think you’re right about having a funny president – I’m sick of the mudslinging going on. I think I’ll write in Dame Edna. That would be funny.

  3. That evil witch!!!

How could she possibly want everyone to have health care!

Her plan is WAY better than last time…. emphasize WAY…

I guess when you own a small business you have to watch your back but it’s true you would have tax credits as incentives.

Mitt Romney made health insurance mandatory with tax cuts as governor . Also prescription drugs would be cheaper. I like the idea and now we just have to wait for California to test it out for everyone else.

    We just sit and watch…

Mitt is a good canditate but Hillary is playing the field geniously but personaly I think Jim carrey should be president. At least then he could make life just a little funnier. (not that Bush isn’t funny)

I totally agree, Sam. Her “plan” would be a boon to the insurance industry, but it would kill small business. Luckily, I think voters are smarter than that.

I say Hillary had her chance on Health Care. The only thing she proved is that she cares more about campaign donations than following through on her “convictions.” This new plan of hers is way worse then her original plan – which was also pretty bad. And guess who benefits – only her biggest campaign contributors – BIG PHARMA/INSURANCE!
