Honey Bunny - Beloved Pet and Friend - Has Passed Away

Today was a heartbreaking day for Preston and me. We got a call from Dr. Orr (Honey’s vet) around 10:30am, and he said she had taken a turn for the worse, and we should come there to say hi to her. Preston and I headed out of the office and ran up to the vet hospital. We got there about 11:30, and they brought Honey Bunny into one of the rooms so we could hold her.
She was very weak, and couldn’t hold her head up. She was wrapped up in a towel to keep her warm, and we took turns holding her, petting her, and talking to her. She just snuggled up to us, and seemed to be really happy that we were there holding and kissing her. She rested her head on my hand, and sat there as we scratched her nose, one of her favorite things.
We were able to hold her for about a half hour, and we told her that we loved her, and we were ok if she wanted to go. It was so sad - she died in my arms around noon today. It was peaceful, and even though we miss her terribly, we know she’s in a better place.
The staff at Creekside Animal Hospital told us that she waited for us to get there so she could be with us when she passed away. It was so sweet, and it meant a lot that we were there for her, and that she waited for us.
We miss her terribly, and our house is so lonely without her. It was so hard to say goodbye, but we know she’s in a better place, and she’s not in pain anymore. She’s with her other bunny friends - Bonnie Bunny, Fluffy, BunBun, and all of her babies. I know that we’ll be with her again in the next life, and for that, I’m grateful. I love Honey Bunny so much, and it’s so hard to say goodbye. She was there for us during so many difficult times, and it’s painful not having her here anymore. We’re grateful, however, for the 5 1/2 years we had to spend with her. She brought so much joy and happiness to our lives - I like to hope we did the same for her.

All bunnies go to heaven, haven’t you seen that movie? or was it dogs?
I’m sure she is 100% hopin along the bunny trail with a basket full of fun far away from barking lassies or that stupid terrorizing talking parrot. She fought hard to the death meanwhile you guys stuck with her the whole time and she did not lose! She just wanted to play another game that’s all.
Long live Attila!!!
Long live Attila!!!
Long live Attila!!!
p.s. Honey bunny (Attila) if bunnies somehow are able to read in heaven and you are now reading this, I was that brown guy you struggled to get away from at the family pictures. I guess you won. Take care, bugs bunny beware! A new bunny is in town.

I’m sorry for your loss Jen. I wish you guys the best through this hard time of losing a friend. I remember how much you used to talk about Honey at work, so I know she was a big part of your life. But yeah, I know she’s just hopping around in endless fields of carrots and lettuce now! She’s probably very happy…

Diego and Larissa - Thanks for your kind thoughts. It’s been a very sad week for us - we miss Honey a lot. Diego, I think you’re right. She’s hopping down another path now - eating all the treats and flowers she wants, playing with her other bunny friends that went on ahead of her.
Thanks again, both of you, for thinking of us. It means so much to us.
o man. I had no idea! see this is what happens when no one informs the two girls that had to move 2,000 miles away! i am so sorry! we all loved honey bunny! she was just as much part of the family as emma. and they are both equally cute! (dont tell broooke) ![]()

Thanks, Andrea…she was a very loved bunny. We had a small funeral for her - I’m going to plant some daffodils on her grave so they come up in the springtime.
I’m glad Honey was in the family picture from last year. Luckily we do have lots of pictures of Honey Bunny - she was so cute. I think she’s busy running (hopping) around heaven with all of her bunny friends - your bunny included.
Thanks for your kind thoughts - we miss you and Camilla so much! I hope you guys are doing well!
It was really sad losing honey, but I’m so glad we could be with her for her last few moments. I’m pretty sure that no other bunny has ever been so spoiled and loved ![]()
You’re totally right, Preston - she was the most loved bunny ever! I’m glad we could be with her too. It made a difficult thing somewhat easier.
