Rocky Anderson, mayor of Salt Lake City, has once again, proved himself idiotic. He decided to protest President Bush coming to Salt Lake City. President Bush came to support the American Legion, and also to speak at a fundraiser for Senator Orrin Hatch.

Rocky Anderson, like every American, has a right to free speech, which is one of the rights that makes this country great. Unfortunately, some people have no class, and do not pick the correct time or place to practice this right. Rocky Anderson is one of them. Protesting the President, when he is staying in the city of which Anderson is the mayor, is both rude and class-less. As a result of his actions, the American Legion is considering boycotting Salt Lake.

I, as a resident of SLC, am sick and tired of the publicity that the media is giving to Anderson, praising him for “standing up to the President.” I’m only writing about Anderson to point out that he is a pathetic excuse for a mayor, and I am ashamed that he represents the city of Salt Lake. At least he will not run anymore once his current term is completed. Then we’ll be rid of him.

The Deseret News published the following comment sent in by a reader, which I found quite comical:

We should all stand and applaud Rocky Anderson. We all must someday face the challenge of trying to recapture the lost dreams of our youth while facing the reality of midlife. Mayor Anderson is living out his boyhood dream of being in the circus. After all, he’s a clown.”

I appreciated this comment because it really does sum up how many feel about Anderson. I just want people to know that residents of Salt Lake do not support Rocky Anderson, and most of us are embarassed by his actions. We all anxiously await the time he steps down as mayor, and someone competent steps up. After all, as I mentioned in my previous blog post about Anderson, “Rocky Anderson is an idiot.”
