Ultrasound Results

On Monday, we had our ultrasound of our little baby, and it is, in fact, a boy. We’re really excited about this - his due date is officially June 8th. Everything looked great, and they measured him to weigh about 1.1 pounds right now. I’m about 22 weeks along, so just over the halfway point. I’m not sure how I can get much bigger - I’m feeling like I’m at max capacity right now. ;)

Monday was also our 3rd wedding anniversary - hard to believe it’s been 3 years already! I feel really blessed to have Preston (and soon our little baby) in my life. What a great 3 years it’s been!

I’m so happy for you. The ultrasound is definitely one of the highlights of the pregnancy. Are you seeing an OBGYN or nurse midwife? I’m just wondering, because I see a group of midwives and I absolutely LOVE them. Anyways, I’d recommend them to anyone.
I’m just sooooo excited for you! I know this is annoying (I’ve been asked this too a thousand times since I got pregnant) but any names picked out? Or not yet?
Scott and I like the name Evie for our little one, but we’re not sure if that’s what we’re going to name her until we actually meet her…

How are you doing, Larissa? Seems like you’re due really soon! (I’m envious…) :) I’m really excited for you! I’m seeing an OBGYN up at the new hospital in Murray (Intermountain Medical Center). He’s great, and the hospital is awesome. I’m glad you like your midwives - it’s important to be comfortable with your doctor/midwife.
I love the name Evie - that is so cute! We’re going to name the baby Robert, but we’re deciding on a middle name, and whether to call him by his first or middle name. (Preston’s first name is Robert.)
Are you still working? What have you been up to? It’s so great hearing from you - I hope everything is going well!

Robert is a great name! When we have a boy, we would like to have his middle name be Scott (after his daddy). And we really like William. So it would probably be William Scott, but we would call him by his first name.

The best thing in deciding whether or not to call your baby by his middle name is to evaluate if people who go by their middle name generally like it or not. My hubby’s first name is Matthew, but he goes by his middle name, Scott, because his parents thought it would be clever to call him by his middle name, because they liked it more than Matthew, but they liked the way “Matthew Scott” sounded as a whole (I hope that made sense). Scott absolutely HATES it, and he says that even as a kid, he didn’t really know his name was Matthew, so it got confusing at school when teachers would call him that and he wouldn’t respond to it. But maybe Preston didn’t mind being called by his middle name so much. So I guess it depends on the person…

Anyways, yes, I am due in like 5 days. I’m so close!!! I have almost everything ready, or at least, everything that’s going to be ready for the baby, lol. I’m really glad you like your OBGYN. I hope your pregnancy goes well; I’m sure it will be great!

I’m not working anymore… I actually had to quit at Heritage shortly after I got pregnant because I got REALLY REALLY bad “morning sickness,” which I didn’t just get in the morning, but ALL DAY. I seriously threw up at least twice a day for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy. I even lost weight after I got pregnant because I was so sick. But yeah, we weren’t really planning on having a baby (oops), so it’s been a little hard. Scott’s still in school and even though I was able to work part time at the library during my second and third trimester, things still are a little difficult for us. But I don’t regret having this baby! I stopped working at the library about a week and a half ago, however, because I needed to be home to get ready for this baby.

So we’re poor and having a baby. Life will get VERY interesting in the next couple of months lol. I’m just glad Scott is graduating in April…

If you can’t decide on a middle name you could always make that one Robert too. :)

Or Ragnar. That’s a good one too.

I like Ragnar…or Preston’s dad has been calling him Roscoe…some good ideas! :)
